I recently had a chance to try out a pair of Laredo Boots from Country Outfitter.  I chose the Laredo Women's Canyon Boot in Tan distressed.  I had a really tough time choosing which pair of boots I wanted to try, they had such a fantastic selection! 

My boots arrived within a week of ordering and I was so excited to try them out. I've long preferred a pair of boots over any other type of shoe.  I'm on my feet a lot at work and the only thing I've found that ensures my back isn't killing me when I get off work, is my cowboy boots. Anyway, they arrived and I tried them on, perfect fit! I can wear thin socks and they don't move around on my feet, yet there is enough room for me to wear heavy socks during the winter months without them being too tight. 

                 

I love these because I can wear them with jeans or with a skirt and it will still look great! They are very high quality, well constructed, and there's no doubt they will last a good long time! I love the higher heel, which makes them suitable for wearing with a skirt. The stitching is solid and there is no worry about the stitching ever coming out.  These are high quality leather boots that I would recommend to anyone!

Corset Chick Giveaway

Corsets have a long history in women's fashion. The first recorded corset was from 2000 BC in Crete. They continued to be a main article of clothing in the 1600's as an undergarment. After that, they emerged as an outer garment in the 1700's. Then, back they went under the clothing in the 1800's. The point is that this is the only era that doesn't seem to use it as a main article of clothing. Well, I say it's time to take them back! They're great!



Corset Chick gave me the option of choosing a corset priced under $30. I chose the Navy Blue Halter Corset. I know it's not your traditional lingerie type corset. I like those too. But, I wanted to pick something that could be a little more versatile. I thought it might look cute with a pair of jeans for a night out on the town.

But, I also thought it would go well as part of a costume for Halloween. Since the halter has a 1940's flair to it, I immediately thought of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. I know it's not the traditional Judy Garland Dorothy. But, I like to think out of the box.

Most importantly, I love how the corset sucks in my stomach. (Having three babies has been a bodily sacrifice.) It also improves my posture. Overall, I like how I look in it.

All of their corsets have boning structured in them, which is what makes the corset strong to pull in your body like an hour glass. Each corset has laces in the back for adjustable fitting. Corset Chick carries regular and plus sizes all the way to 6XL.

I live in the desert. Normal footwear for me are sandals and flip flops. As you can imagine, this does a real number on my feet. My heels are in very poor condition six months out of the year. I get such deep cracks that I bleed. I know - gross. But I have to tell you this so that you can understand what Toe Juice has done for me.

The first couple of days, I wondered if this was going to work. I didn't see much of a difference at first. I found out that it was really effective if I applied the Toe Juice after filing my heels. After two weeks, the deep cracks were gone. No more bleeding. My feet still have cracks, but they are superficial. I can tell that if I use the Toe Juice more, I will eventually get rid of all the cracks. I didn't just stop there. I have flaking around my eyebrows. I used the Toe Juice on my eyebrows, and it cleared up quite quickly. Toe Juice is made from Dermavine; which are plant based extracts. It is safe for all ages and races. It is recommended that it be applied twice a day for 10-14 days. The company has deals running regularly and has coupons on its website.

Emerson Creek Pottery is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Their exact location is in Bedford, VA, which is close to Lynchburg. I love that Emerson Creek is located in my home state! Here are a couple of neat little facts about Emerson Creek Pottery. One of the very first patterns was the field of iris! Emerson Creek launched three new product lines in 2012, which is the copper clay, american blue, and blue crab. 

Each one of their pieces are handmade, hand painted and fired in a gas kiln. Emerson Creek Pottery currently has 13 different lines of their ceramic pottery. Pottery collections include bakeware, lamps, kitchen ware, dinnerware, clocks, and bathroom accessories.  All of their pieces are dishwasher and microwave safe, lead free, and ovenproof.

Please note that the following review is from Everything by Chelsea. I have not had the opportunity to review one of these in person, but they look fabulous! What kind do you think you would like the most?

I was extremely excited when I received my 8oz sugar jar for review! The pattern I chose was blueberry. The jar was absolutely beautiful! This will be a mandatory piece in my kitchen from now on. 

 

Emerson Creek Pottery does a great job mentioning on the products they are handcrafted. On the bottom of the product you will see when they made it! I thought that was so neat.
